Carole Decombe owns two art and design galleries, one in Paris and one in Los Angeles. She has been living in LA for more than seven years now, enjoying a city that is attracting more and more influential artists and global art galleries. Her daughter Lorraine shares that passion for the city. After studyies in fashion at Istituto Marangoni in Paris and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, she worked as a communication manager and she is now back in LA.

Mother and daughter dreamed of working together. Lorraine loves Carole’s taste and mindset. Carole loves Lorraine’s style, energy and enthusiasm. So when the idea of opening a gallery boutique together came up, there was no hesitation. Loulou combines their chosen fields – design and fashion – with a shared interest for craftsmanship, luxury and sustainability. Fashion and design have a natural affinity and many crossovers. It is also interesting to note that there is often a fashion background behind a designer.

Why the name « Loulou »? Ever since Lorraine was a baby, Carole nicknamed her « Loulou Belle ». It is a tribute from a mother to her daughter.

 « Loulou » is like a boudoir - a private room intimate and sophisticated. The boutique displays pieces of art chosen among Galerie Carole Decombe’s collection. They have their own unicity thanks to their savoir-faire, the selection is also exclusive. The design brings up naturally to fashion and most of the collection are in limited edition, small production, sometimes one of a kind for sustainability is also part of their goal.

Their intention is for people to come and visit the gallery boutique and find pieces they can’t find anywhere else.
